Alistair Coleman - Disinformation, Dictators and Propaganda

Join BBC journalist Alistair Coleman as He guides us through the world of fake news and its consequences, and how the corporation separates fact from fiction. And hear about countries where the news is so tightly controlled at the whim of ruling dictators that citizens only ever hear one voice, be they North Korea's Kim, Turkmenistan's Berdimuhamedovs or - of course- Russia's Putin.

About Alistair Coleman

Alistair Coleman is a 35 year veteran of BBC Monitoring, the corporation's open source arm which watches and analyses world media. Starting as a technician, he researched and intercepted foreign broadcasts, before becoming a journalist writing about them. Now a member of the BBC Monitoring Disinformation team, he's worked on the new BBC Verify service, as well as covering cyber-security and authoritarian governments. He is also the supreme leader at the cult Angry People in Local Newspapers website.
